The Mind Matters Workshops - Montessori for Dementia Approach
Creative Making Activity • Meaningful Engagement • Participation and Connection

The Mind Matters Workshops are based on the Montessori for dementia principles, a proven approach that encourages a fresh perspective on dementia care. Instead of focusing on what individuals can no longer do, we focus on what they CAN do, celebrating their abilities and supporting their strengths.

Our approach places the person at the center, rather than the condition. With the right care, support, and encouragement, we believe individuals with dementia can continue to engage in activities they love and remain active in meaningful ways.

What to Expect:

  • Creative Activities: Explore music rhythms, arts and crafts, light exercises, and more, all led by the interests and abilities of the participants.

  • Calm & Welcoming Atmosphere: Ideal for those with dementia and related conditions, designed to support their needs.

  • New Sessions Each Month: Engaging activities based on Montessori principles for dementia, using appropriate materials and equipment.

  • Participant-Focused Learning: All activities encourage exploration and creativity, with all materials provided.

  • Refreshments Included: Enjoy drinks and snacks during the session to enhance the experience.

  • Family-Friendly: Family members, carers, and friends are welcome to attend for free, offering a supportive environment for both participants and their loved ones.

Suitable for a maximum capacity of 6-10 people with dementia or any related conditions (plus care staff), to support a person-centred, therapeutic program delivery.
